Epson Perfection V600 on Ubuntu Linux
The Epson Perfection V600 is a great high-resolution scanner, and I had no problems getting it to work with Ubuntu Karmic. It’s a great scanner and I’ve really been satisfied with it under Ubuntu.

I need a high resolution scanner for a project that I’m working on and it needs to work with Ubuntu. I’ve spent a lot of time comparing the SANE hardware compatibility list with local computer vendors’ sites with almost no luck at all.
From what I can tell the Epson Perfection V600 is the best bet. It does 6400×9600 dpi and is fairly affordable at $210.58 (at Amazon.com now). The SANE compatibility list has it marked as “GOOD”, which worries me a little, but according to the SANE compatibility legend, it should support all the basic features.
